THE DALLAS ZOO

The Dallas zoo opened its doors in 1888.Its entrance is sixty seven and a half feet tall and this is because of the giraffe sculpture in the zoo.<Explain this! This is unique to the Dallas Zoo! The park covers ninety-five arces.It was the first zoological park in Texas. The zoo is a home to thousands of animals and about eighty species of birds. The Dallas zoo is widely known for its outstanding Lacerte family children’s zoo, Wilds of Africa exhibit and gorilla conservation research center. The Wilds of Africa is twenty minutes narrate trip which explains the seven habitats of Africa. The lacerate family children’s zoo is a place where families can have reunions and picnics. Its a very large place for it can accommodate eight hundred and fifty people. This makes it easy for more than ten families to meet at the same time and still have enough room for everyone.This kind of a place allows for interaction that is culture,spiritual and emotionally.

Something so intresting in the zoo are the African penguins who used to be in the Flamingo hotel in Las Vegas.,Why no longer? Sounds like an

interesting story!

They are now in the Wild of Africa.Normally penguins are found in extreme cold places but thats not the case with the African penguins because they are originally from South Africa and Namibia which are relatively warm.They prefer temperatures of about fifty to seventy-five degrees so the water is cooled in the summer since dallas is hot during this season.This are very rear types of birds so having them in the dallas zoo makes it abit special.This birds are so different from the rest because instead of flying they walk on their hind legs and vocalization that sound like donkeys braying thus their nickname Jackass penguins.

The zoo has so many places for people to sit like the prime meridian food court that accommodates three hundred people seated inside an about two hundred people seated outside.Here they have a wide variety of foods like burgers,hot dogs,pizza,deli sandwich,fries,chips beverages,ice cream and the ever fresh salads.There is also the cat green which accommodates one thousand people and is surrounded by trees.The other is the bird valley and wildflower garden which has birds that make the garden so beautiful.Its a very relaxing place as the birds fill the air with they sweet songs flying from one place to the

other.

Hygiene is highly considered in this zoo,with so many people coming in and out the management it’s so hard to keep the bathrooms clean but that’s not the case in the Dallas zoo. They are always sparkling clean the spaces are sufficient for parents help they children use the restrooms.The staff are so polite,understanding and quite friendly they make it easy for one to go round the zoo thus making it possible for one to see everything in the zoo within a reasonable time. The zoo has strollers and wheelchairs for rental making everyone who comes in fill welcome and well thought of. This shows that it thinks of

everybody regardless of age or disability.

The dallas zoo made me identify with nature and appreciate what nature has in store. It is big and a very nice place to relax with family and friends.The thing l liked most was the wild of Africa narrated tour which included a 1/4 mile nature trail where l was able to get a closer look at the animals.On the trail is Sr.Forest aviray which houses over eighty african birds.This was so intresting to me as it gave me a feel of unity and divesty of the diffent parts of the world.I liked it as l made several friends who l still keep in touch with to this day.lt has made me experience differnt cultures as those friends l made that day are not all americans.

1. Your prose is choppy and uninteresting. Combine short sentences appropriately to make the prose smooth.

2. You need to discuss your personal experience more. Besides the penguins, did any other animal exhibits impress you? Did you see the children's zoo or the research center. Can you discuss the research, as this would distinguish the Dallas Zoo from many other zoos, I would think.

I found the essay interesting. The zoo entrance sounds inviting.I am ready to meet all those beautiful wild animals. The sixty seven and a half feet tall gate was made for the giraff, that interested me. I belive the writer intrest was more on birds and pegunins,it is fine but I was looking forward on other kind of Animals, like lions, tiger elephant or unusall animal with with some unusall behaver, like the panda, in Washington zoo, very interesting.

It is an organized essay,the discribition was based on one interest. The social,activity at the zoo sounds like the food court and the children looking around. If the writer expresses a little more about the animals how she felt and how every one at the zoo loved,or scared or impressed it would add more.

I didn't think it has graphic. Maybe the park and the rest area are described or have graphic.

My comment for this essay is that the detail should be on the lead. Like the opening giving you you an idia of this grand zoo, then focues on birds only. As beautifuly written in certain areas,a little detail of the animals, the fun and enjoyment of the experieance would make it great. I enjoyed reading it.

The beginning of your essay is not very interesting because you are just mentioning facts that one would find in a guide book. You become more personal as you go along and therefore your essay becomes more interesting. Try to focus on the personal side and eliminate the abundance of facts. Try to focus on the unique aspects of this zoo.

The giraff sculpture on the entrance impressed me, because I just pictured the Dallas zoo very big. Is it the reail giraff measurment?

The pinguin that does'nt fly is very interesting. It sure makes the Dallas so special. I would like to visit and see this bird.

I would have enjoyed your essay with details in your experieance with the animals.
