The Stockyards are a Specific Site in Fort Worth

There are some interesting and fascinating historical places in Fort Worth, such as the Fort Worth Zoo, Forth Worth Museum of Science & History, Japanese Garden, Texas Motor Speedway, and Fort Worth Stockyards.I think one of the most special and unique places of  the American West is the Fort Worth Stockyards. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It  covers 125 acres and is a great place. It had been the second  biggest livestock market  in the world. It includes 15 square blocks of tradition and many entertainment places, which they maintain as a rustic Western feel. Therefore, both heritage and entertainment are special in the Fort Worth Stockyards, which has attracted visitors.

About the middle of the eighteen century, cowboys drove cattle from South Texas along the Chisholm Trail to Abilene, Kansas, which was a railhead. Then, Fort Worth was the last major stop for rest and supplies. By 1876, because the rail line extended to downtown Fort Worth,it became a major shipping point for livestock. In 1887, the construction of the Union Stockyards was set up. From 1866 to 1890, cowboys drove over four million heads of cattle along the trail through Fort Worth. At that time, the stockyards in Fort Worth had many cowboys and lots of livestock, and so Fort Worth was named "Cow Town". In 1893, wealthy Boston capitalist Greenlief Simpson and a group of investors bought the Stockyards. They changed the name to Fort Worth Stockyards  Company. Construction on the huge plants started in 1902. Its business was getting strong, and so it became the second biggest livestock market in the world. However, during World War II, the livestock market in the Stockyards was declined. Now Fort Worth Syockyards is by name The National Historic Stockyards.

The Stockyards  still retain  their original special flavor of the Old West, and cowboy life still lives in the Stockyards . For example, twice a day, we can see the famous Fort Worth Longhorn herd  driven by authentic cowboys and cowgirls moving down East Exchange Avenue. Every cowboy and cowgirl wears ttheir period clothing from 1865. the cattle bawling , the rhythm of hoof beats, and the herd passing made us exicited . We enjoyed  ng a bygone era coming back to life. In addition, Stockyards have some amusements, and we can enjoy learning about their historical legacy and watching many different kinds of shows. They include Stockyards Station,Historic Cow town Coliseum, and Billy Bob's Texas.

Stockyards Station is located in the heart of Fort Worth Stockyards. They includeTexas Trail of Fame, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, over 25 unque shops,  an art gallery, and great restaurants. They have many special events, like live music on  the  Stockyards Station Stage. You can spend a lot of time touring around. Historic Cow town Coliseum also  is located in the heart of Fort Worth Stockyards. They have the Stockyards Championship Rodeo shows, which are held every Friday and Sturday night. Its programs include Bull Riding, BarebackRiding,Tie Down Roping, and Team Roping. Though those programs are very dangerous, we can sit comfortably and see the best in rodeo and Western  cowboys and cowgirls action. You are excited about seeing those shows. Billy Bob's Texas is the world's largest Honky-tonk. You can listen to music, dance to music, drink beer, and play games. You would have fun enjoying many activities all night.

The Stockyards are  a very  special site in Fort Worth. You feel exited about the many cowboy cultures, and they have many amusing shows. If you want to learn information about Western cowboy culture and have a lot of fun visiting somewhere , you should visit there. It is a wonderful place.

I think that you should define "stockyards" at the beginning. Perhaps some students don't know what they are. Also the word "livestock" probably needs definition.

You might want to explain what the National Register of Historic Places is. Also clarify the status of the stockyards today. Is it still a working stockyards or is it only for visitors/tourists?
Your essay is interesting and we certainly have nothing like it in Washington, DC!
